Samuel V. Langford’s (AKA Sam Langford) over two decades of entertainment experience spans the areas of development, production, and post-production, in the fields of motion pictures, television, and theater.  Wanting to learn from the ground up, Sam arrived in Hollywood on December 27 of 1990 and spent the first half of the nineties working in production on over a dozen independent films, and TV projects, which include “Hell Comes to Frog Town 2” (Starring Lou Ferrigno) the USA, MOW “Dead in the Water” (Starring Brian Brown) as well as working in the development department for Roger Corman’s company, Concorde New Horizons.

In the 2nd half of the nineties, Sam contributed behind the scenes in the post-production of numerous films where he learned the nuts and bolts of putting movies together.  While in the optical effects field in particular, Sam worked for Title House on 23 feature films including, “McCinsey’s Island” (Starring Hulk Hogan) “Suicide Kings” (Starring Christopher Walken) and Academy Award winners, “Good Will Hunting” (Starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, and Robin Williams) and “God’s and Monsters” (Starring Ian McKellan and Brendan Fraser.)

In 1999 Sam founded the original post-production house named Audacity Entertainment Inc, with his friend and then business partner, Jeff Bradley, a 30-year post-production veteran.   Audacity was a full-service post-production house serving the independent film and New Media industry on projects of all sizes and formats including features, music videos, and performance reels, and worked for talent of all levels including, Grammy award winner, Brian McKnight.

In 2005 Sam produced his hit stage comedy “Destiny’s Calling” at the world famous, Stella Adler Theater.  (See more about Destiny’s Calling on the “Projects” page)  Sam had been writing and pitching scripts since the early nineties, resulting in several options as well as being hired on for writing assignments.  He decided on writing a play as a creative excursion but also for the sake of developing a story that could later be adapted into a film and produced on a smaller budget than his big budgeted screenplays thus far.  Sam’s late great mentor, Master Storyteller, and producer, Sidney Sheldon, endorsed Sam’s writing upon reading the latest draft of the stage play with the following quote “Sam Langford is a wonderful storyteller, his writing is original, funny and inspiring.” –Sidney Sheldon.  Mr. Sheldon, later upon seeing the play proclaimed: “Sam is a gifted writer and a talented director, but he is one hell of a producer!”  Sam and Sidney had talked about the possibility of taking Destiny to Broadway.  Sidney Sheldon has had an enormously successful career in Film, TV, stage, and novels, including 7 of his plays being produced on Broadway and received a Tony Award, and in large part, Sidney had actually inspired Sam to write Destiny’s Calling.  Mr. Sheldon passed in 2007.  Sam will be bringing Destiny’s Calling to Broadway and dedicate the play to Sidney Sheldon.  A feature film has been adapted as well and will move forward at some point.

In 2010, Langford produced and directed a TV pilot that he wrote called “Close Encounters of a Different Kind” a sci-fi comedy about alien abduction, Starring Sheree J Wilson, John Laughlin, and Taylor Negron, for a TV series he created called The 5th Dimension.  A funnier, sexier, rock and roll, anthology show in the sci-fi comedy genre.  The pilot and series were well received.  (See more about The 5th Dimension Project and its current incarnation on the “Projects” page.)
